Children International

This is Wendy and Lisa reporting on Week 3 from Ecuador. On
Thursday August 4, 2011 we had the opportunity to visit Children International,
a nonprofit agency dedicated to improve the quality of life for children and
adolescents living in poverty throughout the world. Children International provides
health and educational services for children to have the opportunity to become self-sufficient and socially responsible adults. For example, we went to visit a medical center
where children were given a well balanced meal. Children International was
established in 1989 today they help approximately 56,000 children and
adolescents in Ecuador.

The tour of Children International included a presentation
as well as a visit to one of the clinics in Guayaquil. At the clinic, there was
a dentist, doctor, and volunteers on site to help children throughout the day.
The volunteers play a crucial role in providing services to the children in
Guayaquil. Children International also relies heavily on donations and sponsors
from around the world. Currently, Children International is hoping to expand in
order to help more children and adolescents in need. If you would like to
contribute to Children International, please visit their website at www.children.org.

Thank you for your consideration in helping this
organization.

Hasta Luego,

Wendy and Lisa
